Film idea/ plot summary.

My idea is a version of The Last Man On Earth.
It's about a male teenager, who suffers from schizophrenia so he see's himself as another person alongside him. This then means he thinks he isn't the last person on earth. And to the audience, it will seem as if there is two people. However, towards the end, one of them disappears leaving the other scared and confused.
The boy starts the panic and runs around looking for his other personality, only to be greeted by himself again confused.
The last shot is of the boy standing there, questioning himself as to what just happened.
This is when it sets in he is the last person on earth, and he had been imagining this person all along.

Plot overall:
In the year 2016, the world's population is down to 1 person. The trouble is, he see's someone else.
Througout the short film, Brian (1) wanders around with his best friend Brian. (2) He starts off on a field, laying down talking to Brian (2) about the day. They both get up, and wander into the streets finding a car they like. They ask if each other can drive, (But they can't) so they end up walking again. Suddenly Brian (2) goes missing, so Brian (1) gets confused and starts to panic. The longer Brian (2) is missing, the more scared Brian (1) gets on his own. Eventually Brian (2) turns up out of the blue and explains how Brian (1) is mentally ill, and is actually on his own in the world. With this information Brian (1) gradually get's more and more depressed resulting in him killing himself.

Short film genre

A short film is any film not considered to be a full length feature film. However most modern shorts range from around 2 minutes to 20 minutes at the maximum.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences's definition is: "An original motion picture with a running time less than 40 minutes, including all end credits."
Short films are mainly made by independent film makers with a small budget, or no budget at all.

Pixar produce short films to accompany their feature films, therefore they are mainstream commercial distribution as appose to local events or festivals.

Script

-Footsteps fading in-
Man 1: "Dude, where is everyone?"
Man 2: "Everyone is gone.."
-Ambient music in background-
Man 1: "Can you drive?"
Man 2: "No, can you?"
Man 1: "No..."
"I guess we're walking then."
"You got that drink?"
-Music stops-
Man 1: "Hey, where did you go?"
-Heartbeat gets louder-
Man 1: "This isn't funny!"
-Footsteps get louder-
Man 2: "Dude, why are we running?"
Man 1: "What?!"
-All other sounds stop, heartbeat fades out.-
Man 2: "Hey, I need to tell you something... But you might want to sit down first"
Man 1: "Urmm, Okay I guess?"
-Loud thump as man 1 sits down-
Man 2: "Well I don't know how to tell you this, but you suffer from schizophrenia"
Man 1: "What..? What the hell does that mean?"
Man 2: "I'm not real, I'm just you... Well, I'm me but I'm you... It's all confusing"
Man 1: "Wait, what?"
Man 2: "I'm your other personality, I don't exist, and I have more bad news."
Man 1: "Oh, well what is it?"
Man 2: Seeing as I'm not actually real, you are infact the last person on earth.."
-Dramatic music starts to play, gradually getting louder-
-Man 2 disappears-
-Dramatic music is at loudest point and gun shot goes off, then everthing goes silent-
